I am using the "Lutz" kits right now... chill for a couple weeks and there will be a production version that is much better than the machine shop version out there now...

As always you are welcome to come by and check out my setup, but in a week or so I should have a production version of the lutz kits before they are really out there (I will post feedback here).

The prototype kits are sick.... they put out a full stream of water, no donut like the seios, and a mj1200 with the kit blows away a seio 1100 at half the size (but the same wattage).

Size rules for me in my little 55 .

No, but I promise they are sick ... I could take pics of them if you really want , but they are the same as the ones naso posted.

He's not making any more of the home-made prototype kits, but I willl be sure to post pics and honest feedback from the pre-production kits that I should receive next week. They should be much better than the prototype lutz kits... quieter... more durable.... and still way the #$&@ smaller than the seios or low end tunze at comparable flow .

Oh... and by seios... I mean the protoype kit on a mj1200 blows away my seio 1100 at half the size.

Is there any noise from the Lutz version? I did the diy maxi-stream version with RC boat propellors, and while the flow is great there is a hum that I don't like.

One of them is pretty much silent, and the other makes some noise. I think the noise is due to the impeller being a bit out of balance on one of them (due to the DIY nature). He says the final kits will be injection molded and should not make noise.

Glad I came across this. I was about to order 2 seio 820's today because I need more flow in my tank.

production kits?

Who is making these kits? The makers of maxijets? Or, is this a club member putting together kits?

These are from a guy who used to be on RC but was banned, 'Lutz' (I think for his posts about selling these kits). He makes the parts in a machine shop and look pretty professional.

Add one more to the list of people who'd buy if the price were right.

He was making the prototype kits himself, they are very high quality. The "production" kits will not be made by him, they will be injection molded, so they should be even better quality.

They will be available very soon, Bob @ Exotic Fish will likely become a distributor.

The web site will be at the address below - though the content is lacking right now.

http://www.tritonaquatics.com

I'll post when I get my "production" kits. Hopefully next week.

I'll see what I can do about a group buy. Before we get to that point though let me get the final kit in and make sure it's as good as it looks to be.
