Wait. Wait. Wait some more. Set up trades for it. Fall through. Wait some more. Pure luck and lots of corals to trade for it

Hi Joe, excellent pics. the Green Cyph is especially nice! I have never seen a dunc before, that is really a cool coral. Is it a branching type of coral? Can you take a side view of it? What are its care requirements?
Sorry. I got a little carried away.

Tom, beautiful pics & pieces. Unfortunately the dunc isn't available on our side of the pond at all. All of the origins of this coral seem to go back to one person...Thanks for all the pics.
Randy, it branches like Tubastrea. You're welcome to come look at that and all the cyphs, its much nicer than the camera shows. Same care as a Pagoda really. I haven't had it too long, and it seems super hardy. joe |

Tom and Joe, thanks to both for clarifying the structure etc. of the dunc. I also found a little info on my own. Very nice corals - both of you.
Joe - will be contacting you shortly...

At least now we know who to annoy the heck out to of in order to get a frag of the Dunc's. Add me to the potential list, I've been looking to trade for a piece for 4 years now.

I've been looking for a Duncanopsammia for 10 years, ever since Borneman's book, "A Practical Guide to Corals" came out. It's a hard coral to track down.
That hard work paid off and I got a polyp and a half last month. Blue PC's Flash and PC's The half polyp is now whole, and there is a tiny bud that is turning into a 3rd polyp. I've heard they grow slow, so I plan on power feeding this little guy.

Very nice ! How long have you had the war coral ? Did you get it through the auction ? I came across one and actually stole it for $40 before anyone really knew what it was. Seem's to be a fast grower.

Mike, i got the war coral about a month ago. I concur, it grows very quickly. I didn't get it through the auction, though it was the most expensive piece of coral in my tank($60)
