My new tank is in (the garage)

Well, here are some quick pictures of my new Lee Mar 225 tank and stand.

The tank under raps:

The metal stand:

The overflow cutout:

The cutout is for the drain line for the center overflow.

Ken,
Very well built stand, should be able to park a Mac truck on it. Now out the camera down and get that bad boy finished. I want to see water in the tank before I leave.........

Me too!

I still need to coat the stand, get my plumbing together, and wait for the window to be replaced

Then get 3 guy's over to lift it into the house.

Thanks Brent, yes it's Starfire on three sides, euro braced with a center overflow. It's also drilled for a closed loop and one inch sea swirls.

Ken,

Fish are doing great (new Goldflake is awesome). Most of the corals are doing great as well. Unfortunately, some hair algae is also doing great.

See you at the next meeting.

Ted

Man, I tell you, it's not the cost of the tank, but the plumbing that kills you !!!
Bulkhead here, tru-union valves there, toss if a generous helping of sweeps, pipe, and hose etc...$$$$.

Thanks Scott, I'm looking for the 2" ring for the overflow, did you find that?

What do you think of that stand

I'm actually going to have it sprayed with truck bed liner. I have seen to many "powder coats" still rust thru when it gets scratched or chipped.

I'll look Scott, there are still a few boxes I haven't gone thru yet including the buckets.

Pierce, I hope to have it up by the end of the month. I still have a bunch of stuff to do and purchase before it can go in.

That, and I'm going to start working OT again, so I won't have time to mess with it until weekends.

hey ken,
just letting you know that im going to order the same size tank as yours but only front side starphire eurobraced, center overflow as well. dont be mad that i'm copying you j/k...i was originally going to do 60in but then didnt want to change my mind later and kick myself for not getting a little longer tank. i decided against a closed loop and will be using tunzes instead. i've got 2-6060 and 2-6100 i think that should be sufficient. If there's anything that you'd do differently please let me know i want to get the kinks out before i finalize the idea. thanks for any help. oh yeah one more thing. how thick is the glass that they used?
