Coralife lighting issues?
I'm running two Coralife PC 4X65 Watt fixtures on a 90 gal. mixed reef. So far, one has a cracked end cap, both fixtures' bulb sockets have corroded to the bulb pins - even with a tank lid and bulb covers in place. (Dielectric grease helped with the contact points.) Cooling fans tend to be somewhat noisy. (Customer service was good and provided new fans.) Now, one of the sockets has died in one fixture. Has anyone else had issues with these lights? Hopefully Coralife customer assistance can help with the dead fixture... I've been thinking about up-grading to the Coralife 250 watt hqi / pc, but am concerned about similar issues. Any advice for an affordable, full spectrum hanging halide for a 48" long 90 gallon reef?

well, i would go for current usa's outer orbit if your looking for a complete fixture.... they are far better in many ways.

I have used both Current and Coralife although both have pluses and minuses. Over all quality in the halide ones would be the Coralife. I just purchased on of their new 250 Aqualight Pro lighting systems for my 90 gallon tank with SPS corals. The construction is really beefy and if their old Aqualight Pro lighting system is any indication of quality I have not had any problems for the past two years I have owed the 150 model. Current uses alot of plastic on their halide systems not a big fan of plastic and heat here. Coralifes is made from all metal. Just my .02
