What is your daily Temperature swing?

I'm curious to see what other reefer's daily temperature swings are?

Right now my tank is 79*F @ night and warms up to 82*F in the daytime. Is this 4*F daily swing really bad for the long term health of my corals, fish & inverts?

Please post your daily swings.

Thanks!

Mine swings from 78 to 83. I have never had any problems. As long as it is gradual.

78.5-80. I use a heater and a fan over my sump to balance each other out; much cheaper than buying a chiller.

My temp flux's from about 79 to 81 or 82 and I have always had problems with Ich.
From what I can tell, I contibute this problem to the temp swing.

I have monitored all other aspects of the tank and think that the swing kills.

Mine is at 77 - 78F as well. It does reach 82F in the summer. Here is a graph of my temp swings over the course of the week.

78. Always. Heavy evaporation and two 100w heaters set to the same temp in a 38g.

I recently moved my heater up some. I'm trying to keep mine 80-83. Haven't noticed any problems yet.

Mine swings from 78.9 (the lowest it goes), to about 81 on really hot days where the AC is fighting all over the house. Now that the weather is cooling off, I have been seeing about 79.5 in the middle of the day. I have a dual staged controller for the heaters (two 150w) and the 9 inch three speed fan.

Psyire, your temp swing is not as bad as you think. It is actually only a 3 degree swing instead of 4.

Currently my tank swings about 2.5degrees. In the summer though, the swing is higher at about 4 degrees.

I dont' yet have a chiller...
