Aiptasia

Hi All

I have been keeping Aquariums for about 25 years. I just bouaght a new RR 90 gallon tank that I am saving to set up as as a reef tank. I have a friend that got Aiptasia in his tank and it killed everything, even the fish I am very afraid of this, is there any way to get rid or keep these pests out of my new tank.

use a kalk mix and feed it to them, i got peppermints and they never made a difference. you can also do a search for joe's juice. whatever you do, only kill in small groups. there is a good chance whatever you use will raise pH

joe's juice is goo d stuff. I saw some aiptasias popping up so I got some juice and their all but gone now. you find the aiptasia and squrit it with the juice and that shrivel up like a slug on salt.

Thumbs up

JOE'S JUICE!!

Had Peppermint's, they ignored it.
Had a CBBF, he ate some of it and ignored the rest.

Joe's Juice worked first time on each one, I have not seen any more since!

2 Peppermint shrimp worked for me in a 20g. I had a few Aiptasia that were big enough to eat the shrimp but the two of them cleaned house and kicked butt.... no sign of any Aiptasia now....

My buddy used a copperband with really good results. Pretty much wiped out all the aiptasia in a few weeks. Just have to keep an eye to make sure they don't go after anything else

I've tried 3 different methods,

Blowtorch on the rock out of water (Before anything other than rock added to tank) Worked to a certain extent

Lemon juice didnt work

Joes Juice killed them all.

Just my limited experience.

Cheers

I just injected very hot water into it and it's gone this morning. I think I killed it.
