Flushing my GBTA. Sorry dude.

got him in the tank about 3 weeks ago. got chewed up by powerhead that he climbed all the way up to get to the very same day.

Moved underock, hanging upside down exposing 1/4 of his tenticles...thought he was doing alright. Squirted food into him as best I could.

Saw him hanging upsidedown and sliming up the place like you wouldn't believe tonight.

Tried desparately to feed him and when I blew the silversides on him with a baster all I saw was his guts and the rock underneath him.

Guess he is not gonna make it. Lesson learned. He can move his tenticles, but just barely...trying to force-feed him. Took him out on his rock and he doesn't stink.

But man he is messed up. Looks like the PH incident got a good chunk of his mouth.

BTA's are known for their repairing capabilities. if it is not too late, i would try aiming a weak power head at him and give him a couple weeks to come around; if he is not a glob of slime. i would thing that as long as his tenticles were moving around and somewhat inflated he is alright (even if you can see through his mouth .

Thanks.

I may keep him around. His tentacles are moving every now and then...barely. I'll keep feeding every other day.

Have you covered all of your powerheads with sponge guards yet?

mine did the same for about a month after introduction. Looked like a doughnut! Then he split and one half died and the other totally recovered!
Just keep an eye on your water levels, but i wouldnt offer to much food this will probebly stress further and it wont take it with it's mouth like that i shouldnt think.

Don't feed him. Now his battle is to recover without catching some sort of infection. Food on him at this point will only help introduce infection. He will live off of his tissue while he recovers.

Well he seemed to be doing better, expanding. Even moved a little to get more light.

Came home tonight and he was face down in the sand (has been looking really bad the past few days.)

Move him and hopefully he'll reattach. But I fear he just had too much stress/trauma. His guts are outside of his mouth, but 1/6th of his tentacles are inflated. So I assume its still alive....barely.

As much as he's mucking up my tank I may have to just try again. Too bad really as the clowns love him.

well, he isn't flushed.

It appears to be splitting off the damaged portion. We'll see.

Yes. But its a small 30 gallon tank and no quarantine.

I think it is splitting off the injured area from the powerhead incident. I'm gonna keep him in there and hope for a recovery.

Step 1 throw away the trashy Rio it will only lead to massive tank death. Step 2 cover all other powerheads with sponge.

Assuming you haven't done all this already.
