Snail or not ?

I found this guy the other night in my tank. Seems to have a highly polished hard shell. Seen at least two or three of them.

Any ideas on what it is ?

Here is a small video : (1mb)

It looks like it may related to a tulip snail, although the shell is almost like a cowry's, but cowrys that I have seen have dark feet...

I once found a tiny textile cone shell in my tank while I had my hands in there, scrubbing algae. It gave me quite a start! I managed to carefully capture it and take it back to the store where I purchased the live rock it skulked out of. They didn't want to have anything else to do with it other than to destroy it, and I don't blame them.

The same place had a Blue-Ringed Octopus for sale once, and I told the guy who worked there what it could do, and he had no idea it was deadly!

Many snails are piscivores, so when in doubt, move it out.

KDodds is probably right. I did a search on Hyalina here on RC and I found a few answers from Ron and its very likely to be a peppermint snail.

Thanks !
