Seio Pumps

I am looking to ditch the maxi-jets in my 135 for more flow. I really like the Seio Pumps. How many and what size does everyone have in 100 gallon plus size tanks? My reef tank is mainly LPS and Zooanthids.

I have 2 820's in my 90
you might want to go with 2 or3 1100 gph
remeber the flow is coming out of a much bigger openig than your maxi's so its a more getnle flow

2 820's would do great in your tank...

i would keep the ph's on a wavemaker pointed in such a way to break up the laminar flow that the seio's will create. corals do not like a laminar flow...it's like blowing into a dog's face...

but dont ask me why they like their head out of a car window!

i have 2 620's in a 75 gal display on alternating DIY wally world timers for that wave effect....though i have a few other smaller PH in the rockwork.

link to the wally world variable water flow timers

I really like their broad stream though where they're placed in a 4' tank i really have to becareful with what they're pointing at...some of the corals don't like that much flow.

there is a problem. They are supposed to be coming out with their own version of a wavemaker timer that works with the seios.

2 of the 820's will give you plenty of flow.

I would remove the maxi's and just go with the 820's. Then if you arent happy or can't get the flow the way you want try addding a maxi back in. I think you will be happy with the 820's, they move alot of water and its a gentle current to.

I am istalling a seio 1500 on a 72g bowfront, can the flow be adjusted and do you think I will have to adjust it. I will be putting it in back corner pointed toward the middle front of the bow.

That is going to be alot flow! The good thing is that if it is to much ( I don't know what your preferences are or what corals you intend on keeping - I would say it is to much for softies though ) you can adjust the flow easily.

Thanks Sherm, The 72 will be barebottom and yes I have mostly zoos, ricordia, leathers. Is there just a knob to turn down flow and does it stress out motor to do so??

Mstamic pumps Look brand new, what kind of problems have you heard about the seio being on a wave maker. I have 2 820 on a blueline for about 6 mos now. Do they burn up? cause electrical problems? etc.... Has anyone Experience any problems? now I am worried.

I also have a bare bottom if that makes any difference in my tanks needs for the SEIO.

I have 2 1100s in my 75 gallon mixed reef. When they are open all the way its a little too much for the LPS. I have both of them throttled down all the way and it is great. No more loud maxi-jets on a wavetimer and better general flow in the tank.

There is a ring just behind the impellor that you can turn flow up or down with. It is a very easy adjustment.

Three 620's to supplement my two T-4 closed loops. WIll probbaly add a fourth 620.

Mix of LPS, softies and SPS.

Great mounting brackets and flow. from me.
