I am using 2 aqua spacelights...250watt DE 10K AB's I just switched back to them from 20k's and have noticed redicolous growth on all of my soft corals! I think I am definetly gonna stick with 10k's and look into some vho's for actinic suplements...

Thanks! its crown is about 14-16 inches across and can stretch up to about 16-18 inches high...its crazy!!! Im afraid I might need to get rid of it eventually cuz its getting too big and is shadowing too much below it. My future goal is to make this aquarium a SPS only.

That leather will not help your SPS aspirations, too much chemical warfare imo.

ooo, sorry to point this out, but in the first picture, in the background, there looks to be alot of flatworms, you should try to keep those undercontroll if possible.

but good growth you have there!

I doubt the arrow crab is going do anything for the flatworms. The flatworm populations (the ones you have are the ugly but essentially harmless variety). I would make sure I keep an eye on water quality as it seems to be related to the flatworms explosions (this will also be important for being succesful with SPS). You can speed things up by vacuming them out. You can also consider Flatworm Exit to get rid of them.

I've read somewhere using some air tubing to suck them out this way it will only take out very little water, ill try that first! Thanks for the advice

Garsavior,

Welcome to the SPS world! Don't want to be a stick in the mudd, but watch that sig line, people are getting moderated pretty heavy of late, and religion is one thing it seems not to mess with around here. Just trying to warn ya before you get jumped.

Later,
Chris

If I get jumped, Oh well! It was a pleasure learning from reefcentral.com and all of you. I am merely expressing what I believe as well as everyone else does.

i bought a green spotted manderin for mine and he tore them up.i have not seen a flat worm in months. Not sure what he eats now,but he stays fat Hit or miss on them, but i'm sure if the fish gets hungry enough it will eat them.I dont think the crab will help. but there is other fish that are suppose to eat them. Raccoon butterfly fish ( may eat corals) also a few wrassie's i forget there names.but can be found in a internet search.

Well...the lil sucker (mandarin) has been getting fatter, but dont know on what? I saw him eat a flatworm and spit it out I've had these pests for a while though and havent noticed any harm to any of my corals. I've been doing water changes every week now instead of every 3 weeks, it seems to be getting rid of alot of them.
