Getting aiptasia off rock before putting in tank

I have rock in a sump that will be going into the display tank. It has quite a bit of aiptasia on it that I want to avoid introducing into the display tank. How can I remove the aiptasia safely?

try lemon juice. spray it at them or inject it with a seringe. you could also try kalkwasser paste, works well.

Peppermint shrimp supposedly work pretty well at removing aptasia as long as they aren't too big (the aptasia that is). I'd try hitting them with kalk paste, haven't tried the lemon juice, but with it being acidic enough of it could probably lower your pH some, but the kalk will just make your corals grow better.

Your replies are greatly appreciated. I have the luxury of being able to take the rock out of the sump, treat it appropriately, and then return it to the display tank. Is there anything (more drastic) that I can do that will eliminate the nuisance anemones but not kill the coralline algae?

Joe's Juice or Kalkwasser paste work well. If I can remove a rock from the tank, I will baste it in Kalk and leave it out for like 5' or so. Usually this melts the little bugger right off the rock. Scrape it or use a turkey baster to squirt it off the rock. If you are finding that this doesnt do the trick, repeat and then superglue over the offending anemone's remains.
