55 Gallon Tank at Almost 5 Months

Here is my 55 gallon tank at almost 5 months old. Just over half of it came from a 29 gallon tank that was running for a year. I needed more room and the 29 gallon just didn't have it.

Looks great!!! I'm building the stand on a 70 with the same base dimensions but 24" depth right now and that's my "tank model" I hope I can get half that look.

Entropy: Thanks!

I wanted more depth and at least 3ft length to work with. On a limited budget and wanting to move to a bigger tank I went to this instead of the 75 gallon because I am using a 24" T5 setup that is working nicely that I had on my 29 gallon. I spent my money on the sump/refuge with a Euroreef Skimmer for this tank, I had a seaclone 100 on the 29 gallon and wanted top notch for this tank.

When I got that Tang about 7 months ago, she was just a little bigger than that Neon Blue Yellow Belly Damsel you see on the left side to the lower right of the clowns in the picture. She was a cute little girl and and now she is a cute bigger girl. I am still undecided on when she will come out, but she is doing very well and enjoys the tank.

Thanks Everyone!

Here is a picture of my Orange Capricornus frag and my Pink Tip Digitata next to my Mileopora frag. My Mileopora frag is really starting to get some lime green color to it.

Is the eel in your avatar in that tank? If it is can you list all of your fish in that tank? I'd like to know because I want an eel too and have a 55 gallon tank. Thank you

Flipturn88: The Sun Coral was becoing a pain to feed directly with the darn Eel in there at feeding time, so I just got a credit for it and will think about maybe getting another somewhere down the line.

JoshLangerman: I do have the Eel in the tank and he does well with all the inhabitants.

2 Tank Raised Ocellaris Clowns
1 Neon Blue Yellow Belly Damsel
1 Royal Gramma
1 Blue Tang

1 Lamarck's Angel
1 Snowflake Eel

rjwilson,
The tank is looking great! It's come a long way in a short time. FWIW I kept a regal in a 75 for 3 yrs before I moved him. I think you have a little time before the tang police start knocking on your door:-)

Thanks Chris!

Why is it that when you go to take a picture of the tank, all the corals can not seem to respond with being fully out and happy. Only every now and then can I get a picture of the Eel out with all the corals standing at attention.

It also seems that there is always one coral that is a little sad or something. Once that one sparks up then there is something not quite right with another coral. It is almost like a day care and there is always one child that is a little sick, but every now and then they are all happy and doing well.
