Unknown softy I.d?
Posted in general suggested I post here.Bought from LFS as unknown as it came in a shipment of other softies.It's about 2 inches across sitting on a white short stalk made up of tiny polyps with slightly longer tentacles giving it a prickly look

Wow...that might be Umbellifera, but not sure. How is it doing? Died yet?

It's going great, puffed up a bit more and 'stalk' has elongated so fingers crossed.

not really on the internet - dunno, never really checked. Umbellulifera is in Fabricius and Alderslade's book, Soft Corals and Sea Fans. They are not zooxanthellate, are are deepwater corals, and not much known about them.
