Well, it was only a matter of time before My Reef Creations got there own club. There products are definatly deserving of the honor.

If your the proud owner of a MRC product, let's see em.

Here's our MR-2 in action on our 250gal. system. Pulling out all kinds of gunk. Gotta love it!!

Thanks Andy at My Reef Creations for making a fine product.

Naw, I've been told by "experts" that my skimmer makes bubbles that are too large and that it's impossible to tune.

Thanks for getting this club started Ereefic!! I have seen the other clubs out there and was wondering when a brave soul was going to initiate launch. I purchased my MR-1 and a Dual Nano Calcium Reactor from Andy at MRC last year for my 20H. I am moving up to a 75g and have sold my MR-1 (it's going to it's new home this weekend) and bought a brand new MR-2 from a friend, who is going skimmerless for a while. His loss. I plan to upgrade my CR after a while. I am tossing the idea back and fourth about his Kalk reactor.

Here is my MR-1 and CR hard at work.

SHARKSRME, Holy cow!!! That a serious skimmer!!! Oh, and you might want to get that purple pseudochromis out of the skimmer cup.

Mr James, looks good!! I figured it was about time for the club, well deserving IMO. Oh, and I think I have the same 'fishy' floor mat as you.

Ok, I'm on the fence, MR-2 or Euro-Reef 8-2. I've got a 120 gal. tank with 30 gal. sump. Skimmer will sit in sump, pump must be submersible.
Looking at the web pages, the MR-2 will be a little less $. I'm thinking that you guys will recommend a better pump to run it which will raise the $$ to close to equal of the ER.
So, what pump do you recommend. Most people dont like Mags, Andy sells the package deal with the GenX 8500. Is that pump any good?
Not to leave out the ER here, I've looked at the Sedra's and they dont really impress me, but they seem to perform well.

What other pump should I put on the MR-2, as I said it must be submersible.

Thanks
hef

kheflw, I am running the MR-2 with the Gen-X 8500 and it is working really well. Although I've only been running it for about a month, so the verdict isn't in on longevity of the pump.

Not sure about other submerrsibles as i've only used Mag pumps, but have read where people report the Mags to no really be a good pump for the skimmers. Maybe the pump is fine, it just didn't meet there expectations of what they thought it should do, I don't know.

I did get the Gen-X 6000 for the MR-1, but it's not running yet so nothing to report on it yet.

I was running a Mag 12 on my MR-1. With my new MR-2, I decided to go with an external pump (GenX/Mak4) for better head pressure. The Mag pumps are all I have ever really known and they do very well. I think Andy recommends a Mag 18 for the MR-2. I don't know of any submersible pumps rated for head pressure?!??

It just dawned on me that the MRC Club can brag about other things than just skimmers!! Andy has a variety of products including sumps and miscellanious DIY stuff. Now that's a club!!

Good point Mr James about the different products, should have mentioned that in the original post.

If you got any MRC products, let's see them.
