Am I ready????
Hey guys, I wanna throw my tanks specs at ya, and tell me if you think I'm ready for the SPS plunge!!! OK Here it goes!
40 Breeder (36"Lx18"Wx16"T) Lithing 2 175 Watt XM 20K's 2 96 Watt PC Act 03's Flow 4 200 GPH PH's, one in each corner Tanks's been set up for about 9 months. Filter 20 Gallon above tank fuge, no skimmer, of filter pads (Ecosystem???) Here are a few shots The System Front Tank Shots Left Right Whatcha guys think, can I do it?? DVS |

Should I remove any of the corals in there now, do you guys see any possible "threats" ???? Thanks a lot!!

You are fine. Sps are easier to keep then people make them out to be. All that waiting 6 months stuff isn't needed.

Thanks a lot, I kinda figured that, a lot of people make this hobby sound a hell of a lot harder than what it really is.

There looks to be quite a bit of hair algae in that tank. I would get that problem solved first.

yea, there was thanks for noticing That tank up top is the fuge, but I do have that problem fixed, the pic is an old one, thanks for the heads up though!!

If you plan on going full sps, dont add anymore mushrooms or soft corals like colts.

I knew I didnt want any soft corals, like leathers and colts, but no shrooms????? Why not, is it bcuz of too much light, or bcuz they are just not compatible???

It's because they're like pests when they start splitting. When they come in contact with sps... the sps lose.

OK, cool thanks a lot, looks like the elephant ear is coming into work with me tomorrow, but I tihnk I'll keep the blue rics, and just keep an eye on them.

Mushrooms like Rics and elephant ears that dont go crazy and start climbing on your rocks shouldn't be much of a problem other than if they release any chemicals but it shouldn't be bad.
I would be careful about the elephat eating fish though.
