Hermit & coral thingy :)
I would be very happy if I could get an id on the hermit and what is wrapped around my red coral (brown thingy)

Hi,
To identify the hermit crab to more than just "hermit crab," I would need to see a picture of it out of the shell. Sorry. The brown stuff appears to be a hydroid. I think I can see small polyps from it, but.... it is hard to tell. A closer, higher resolution image would help. |

here we go I was curious how polybs could come from such a small and thin "thread". There are 5 of them.
What's on the picture seems to be all of it. |

From what I can see in your pic, I would guess it is a Calcinus sp. hermit.
