For those with a kalk reactor...
What percentage of kalk powder remains undissolved in your reactor?
How often do you simply add kalk powder to the reactor and how often do you clean out all the undissolved kalk in the reactor? Is there a way to know whether or not you are getting a saturated kalk solution or whether you just have undissolvable particulate remaining in the reactor? |

When the pump or stirer mixes the kalk the whole reactor will generally be milky white. Adding Kalk really depends on how much you use, I clean my reactor one a month. At the end of the month I will notice the Kalk to be a stained brown color.

I haven't cleaned mine in the 1 year I've owned it. I just keep dumping in more kalk. I figure everything will eventually dissolve.

i usually add the powder once a month, without cleaning. i'd say bout every 3 months, i'll clean all the insoluble stuff out. the way i can tell that the kalks exhausted is by the tank's pH. when all thats left is the insoluble stuff, the pH wont rise like when the kalk's fresh.
as far as a percentage left over, i've never measured it. eyeballing it, i put a cup in, and have maybe have a few tablespoons left when its exhausted. |

How much are you guys adding at a time? I have to add more to my Geo about every week to week and a half. I usually add about 1/2-3/4 cup at a time and I usually mix it with about 8-12 oz of water before I pour it in the reactor.
