Help! Featherduster left his tube

Got a new featherduster today. He left his tube tonight. Is he dying? Should I do anything?

No he will just find somewhere he likes and then build a new tube.

He most likely just shed his plume and if you watch the old tube it will most likely grow a new plume in a week or two.

This is not necessarily true. In fact, in my experience, when a feather duster leaves its tube, it dies more often than not.

i have seen it happen both ways, sometimes they will create a new tube, sometimes they die...
