Questions About My New Saltwater Mixing Container...
Well, I finally found a place around here that carries the 55 gal. water jugs, so I got one. The guy at the store said its made for storing drinking water for animals, so I expected it to be perfect. When I got home, I opened it to clean it out and inside it smells really strong of chemicals/bleach. So I rinsed it out really good and let it air out. The smell is still there, but not as bad as before. Is there something I can do to make sure this new container doesnt kill all my fish when I use it to make saltwater? I was thinking about just filling it with water and putting a filter on it with activated charcoal, but maybe there is an easier way.

Fill it about half way up and poor white Vinagar about a pint or 2. Toss in a power head and let it stirr for abour half an hour or so. Make sure to flipp/roll/shake it up so that the whole container is washed. Then rinse really really good with cold water. Taadaa!! Your good to go .
