Is a Royal Gramma compatible with Macneill's Basslet?
I wanted to see if anyone knew if a Royal Gramma is compatible with a Macneill's Basslet (aka Blue Assessor)?
Everyone says that they are each excellent reef-safe fish, but since they're both basslets, I was wondering if they'd be okay together, even in a 90 gallon tank (with 150 lbs. of LR, as well as an ocellaris clown, a purple firefish, 2 bangii cardinals and a convict blenny)... Thanks... |

Man i think with a 90 gallon they would be ok. Alot of the compatibility charts say not to mix basslet's but they also only require 20 to 30 gallon tank per species.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping. (What I loosely refer to as the "Rumble Fish" theory -- from the scene in that movie when Matt Dillon dumped the male Betas into the river, and they didn't fight each other because they had more room to live).
...But I'm new to saltwater and am not sure if that theory applies. I was concerned that they might still go after each other, even if they stake out their own little areas... |
