very nice store, large and lots of stuff. they had 3 zero edge tanks filled with corals and ever thing is for sale. 1 nice large show tank. 4x2x3 or some thing like that. i will post a couple pictures when i get back to el paso tomorrow. southwest saltwater was tim's old store. tim is the new owner of salty fin on the west side that was owned by fred, just in case anyone doesnt know.

i did pick up some food and mud for my refuge.

it was a very nice store. i like the people in the store. they come up to me and start asking if i needed help. i chat with them and talking a little about the clubs there and our club. they had people on stuff to help, do service and offer adivce. they make custom sumps for people thought that was cool. very friendly people and stuff i recommand if you are ever in tucson to stop by there and take a look.

here are some random shot i took while checking out me new camrea.

skimmer that run the whole store.

Thanks for sharing the pics with us John. What did you think about that display tank with the two 6' Solaris fixtures on it? Did you notice that the back of the tank was also not only just rock but there was a lot of the pond foam sprayed on it?

I was in that store very shortly after Tim sold it to the the guy who has it now, then I was back in it about six months after that and then again a few months back. The new owner really changed it a lot and cleaned up the tanks like you wouldn't believe.

Nice to hear you are really happy with your new camera.

ya bunch of tanks where froamed. they all look good, but wasnt pond foam was something else like it, he showed me the can. i might have a picture of the can. they said they send staff out to foam people's tanks for them. you can see it on the back of the red sea tank. the main display was foamed from top to bottom and has sps's embeded and growing in and on the foam. you can see some of the sps mounted in the foam on the main dsiplay in the side view shot i took top left corner and ya that take had one of the led lights on it.

For any of you that haven't seen one of the zero edge tanks filled and going, you just don't know what you are missing. It is really different looking at one of them. It is easier to see everything down from the top than it is through the sides. Most everything we keep in our tanks looks best from the top anyhow. You can look through the sides but it is rather blurry from the constant waterfall going over and down the side.

As one of the new "guys", can someone explain pond foam or its equivalent?

nmnative, pond foam is used for a couple things. look at the red sea image, second to the end. the back of the tank looks like rocks from top to bottom. that is pond foam or type of covering it, to give it a rocky look and can be covered in corals as well over time.

Thanks John, I see it now. Looks neat, I had never heard of it. My sis lives in Phoenix, I plan to visit the store on my way back next time. BTW, I love the pics from your new camera. Someday, I will have a decent camera and post some pics.
