Red Firefish Compatibility
I have heard a ton of different takes on keeping a pair of firefish together so I want to hear everyone else's expert opinions. I currently have a 75g reef tank with all water parameters in check (trates are a little high but I'm working on that). I added one red firefish last week and he is doing very well.
My current stocklist 1 red firefish 1 blue devil damsel (what a b****) 3 yellow fin damsels 1 orange false perc clown 1 black perc clown 1 flame angelfish (very nice to my corals for a change) 1 purple tang (about 3") I would like to add the 2nd firefish, but I have heard that it will not work at all, and that if there are no more than 2 you should be ok. Let me know what you think. The tank is about 4 months established with a 3" livesand bed and about 75-90lbs of liverock (all covered with coraline). |

wow, thqat's a lot of damsels!
my guess is either a damsel of the other firefish would beat it up =(

I would not want to be that Firefish in your tank, that's for sure!
Adding another firefish can create some issues. Safe yourself some trouble and get another semi aggressive fish. |

no way...you have all those fish in a 29 gallon, including the tang???
I would lighten the load before adding anything else!!! |

Well, he clearly stated they are in his 75 gallon reef, not his 29. With the current inhabitants however, I would advise against a second firefish.

Those are in my 75. My 29 is sitting empty with nitrates around 300 I'm getting ready to do a 50% water change on the 29 and get some live rock for it now that my funds are a little better
