Breeding clowns

When breeding clown fish do they need a anemone?

The back of a the ceramic or terra cotta tile has a texture the clowns really seem to love...it's like live rock that has already been cleaned, saving the fish a lot of work.

Not in my experience. Color don't matter, and FWIW Size really dos't matter either.

Unglazed tile and terra cotta pots cut in half are used for breeding clownfish because the can be easly removed and placed in a rearing tank and replaced with another piece and not upset the breeding clowns or the tank.

Cut the pots from top to bottom. It is advised to silicon the cut edges and brace the pots so they do not scratch the tank if the fish pushes the pot around. Tiles can be held in place with Panduit Ties.

My clown fish spawn all the time. They like to lay their eggs right under my frogspawn. It's pretty cool they constantly aerate the eggs with their fins and the eggs turn bright orange then green then their gone. about a month later Ill have another batch of eggs. I figure the other fish eat the baby's before they can get big enough.

I use a regular white tile and they seem to love it alot and they keep on using that same tile for a while. You generally want to put it right where they hangout alot perhaps by the host
