The only place they are is in the back of a 29gal bio cube where it's dark. They are really soft when you touch and will smoosh easy. If you do a freshwater dip.. they just wipe off.. if you just pickup the probe... it takes a bit to get them off. Maybe this will help.

Little hard to tell, but they look like sea squirts to me.

they really don't look like the pictures I looked up for syconoid sponges. They are soft to touch and smooshy and slimey. Maybe though.. they might be. Any other suggestions?

Ok... here's another thing I would like to know what it is... Have had the tank up for over 1 year now and have never seen these before? What are the bright yellow things behind the hairy mushrooms?
