Making a HOB filter into a Fuge

Has anyone tried this? I want to make my Millenium 3000 into a HOB fuge...can someone post their experience with this or their step by step...what can i put in it?

People have done that. I don't know what size that filter is, but some live rock rubble would be a good substrate for growing various small animals.

I would ask why you would want to. Theres not room for anything and one of the main reasons for a fuge is to reduce tank clutter. And this would not solve any notrate problem you may already have.

here is a pic to give you some visual



on one side i plan to put rock rubble for substrate and maybe some cheato? and on the other i plan to just put filter floss...

what do u guys think?

I actually dont have any problems with my tank right now...i;ve been running this filter as is since i started.
