ID Please, and good or bad?

This has been growing on one rock in my tank and was curious as to what it is,and if its a good thing or bad thing. Its kinda cool looking, its not a hard growth but soft and moves with the water

Thanks

It's an algae, I can't remember the name. Get rid of it. Siphon it out or just scrub the rock.

The rock it is on of course is at the bottom of the tank so removal is out, Iam afraid if I try to "rub" or "scrub" it off it might spread any thoughts?

Guys with experience with it, could a refugium keep this in check? I'd say it's taking advantage of something, and phosphate would be a decent guess---which of course your standard algae will suck up in a fuge.

Just an algae, but it's not eyesore, I would leave it there.

I believe that's Lobophora. Getting your surplus nutrients under control is the best approach. I've heard that Naso Tangs may like that stuff.

I think I've seen that called scroll algae. Don't really know much about it.

Definitely looks like Lobophora -> bad. Padina (aka scroll algae) is a desirable macro algae.
