Fuge size?
I am just wondering what is a good ratio when it comes to the size of a tank and a Refugium for it.

I've heard 20% is ideal. So if your tank is 100 gallons, your fuge would be 10 gallons. Any size fuge is better than no fuge.

I don't know that there really is an ideal... bigger might be better unless you've got more nutrients being trapped in your fuge than you have export processes removing them. It's more a matter of what are you trying to accomplish with it... are you having a refugium to grow microfauna for say, dragonets, or are you having a fuge to grow out algae for nutrient export. If you're doing nutrient export, the bigger the better, if you're just doing it for the addition of microfauna, you can get away with a pretty modest footprint, as mentioned above, 20% would be wonderful for that, but any is better indeed than none.

yeah that is about what I was thinking I was planning on using it for both purposes. It is a 75 gal tank and I can only fit a 30 gal under it. I was planning on using a drilled 10 gal on top of that for fuge but it does not fit. So I think I will split the 30 in to 3 parts one of them being so 12x12x12 around for fuge size. What do you think
