Milwaukee PH Controller Problems
I have had a Milwaukee PH Controller for about a year. I never used the calibration fluid, but I just figured the reading was off a full point as the water in my tank was around 7.1 all the time. I finally decided to try to calibrate this thing and I can't get it even close. When I put it in the 7.0 solution I am around 5.2 - 5.5. When I put it in the 10.0 solution it only goes to around 6.0-6.2. I tried using the adjuster in the back and it only moves it about .3.
Is this thing broken or am I doing something wrong? |

Is the probe clean.. If not clean it then try.

It looks very clean. I also just washed it off and the readings are still way off. Does it matter where I have the dial set when it comes to calibrating it - 5.5- 9.5?

Probes typically need to be replaced between 6-12 months.

If your Milwaukee PH Controller is like mine.
The screw on the back is for adjusting 4.0 PH The small white screw on the front is for adjusting 7.0 PH

Ok, so I am an idiot. I forgot about the screw on the front. Of course, when I adjust that, I can get it to 7.0, but I can't get it up to 10.0 when I dip the probe in the 10.0 solution.

What model controller do you have?
My meter instructions only call for 4.0 & 7.0 PH calibration.

You can NOT calibrate a PH meter with 7 and 10. You need 4 and 7.
