Lighting

I have a 30 gal with 3 flowerpot corals, a purple sea fan, mushrooms, a barely survivng pulsating xenia and about 25 lbs of live rock. The lighting is a 15 and an 18 watt 50/50 coral light. I also have a 75 with a sun coral, 2 damsels, a tomato clown, an anenome, some algea plants and some blue and green polyps. And about 50 lbs of live rock. The lighting in this tank is a actinic vho 110 watt 10000k x's 2. What I was wondering is do I have adequete lighting for both tanks?

In the 30 you don't have enough but your non photosynthetic corals may be a good option for that tank. In the 75 it looks like your lighting is inadequate as well, especially if you have 2 atinics. If you added a couple of VHO's to your 75 that would provide a good bit of light and enable you to keep most corals well.........the anemone is the one I would worry about in that tank but that's only from reading about them as far as my experience.

hth, Chris

The VHO's you have over your 75, are they actinic or 10000k's?

Probably the easiest and most economical would be to add T5 or VHO retros to either tank. Probably a couple more bulbs over the 75 and 3 or 4 over the 30. It really depends on what your budget is and what you hood setup is like etc........
