Cleaning Magnet/Pad for acrylic
Now that I'm done polishing my first ever acrylic display tank... what's a good algae magnet and/or pad to use so I don't scratch it up right away?

Hey there Jake, here is what I do, I just get a filter pad or polishing pad I believe they re called, and stick it in between my magnet. I think it's called an algae pad. and if your magnet is strong enough it will hold the pad in place.

Hey Anthony.
That's what I do on my acrylic QT tank, not sure if it's the best route to go, but seems to work ok. Of course that tank is scratched all to hell, so I wouldn't notice one way or the other

I just use a mag float. And, to be honest, the exterior scratches are so light, that it only takes 10 seconds to buff them out.

There's a MagFloat made for acrylic. It comes in the blue plastic body. The cream colored Magfloat is for glass.
I made my acrylic mag float better by using a scrub pad. I slit the pad open and remove the sponge. I slide the mag float in and clean that way. It cleans much better and much faster than the magfloat in it's original form. |

cool... cool... I think I might get the F-4. It's a little pricey but looks like a good product.
