coral sale - taking down tanks Sat 1pm

Hi All,

Saturday at 1PM

I'm taking down my tanks so I'm selling off my coral. Mainly sps corals but some interesting zoos too. I'll post a more detailed list but I have some millis, torts, etc.... There are a few that I'm not selling the colony but will sell some frags. Also, I'll sell all my live rock off. My fish will be sold off too but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it on Sat. The fish are the hard thing for me to part with as I've had some over 6 years.

Did something happen John or did it get to be too much.

If you get rid of any equipment, let me know. I'm setting up a prop tank so I'm looking for a sump/pumps.

This is going to suck! Are you going to downsize or completely get out? Your tank will be missed for sure!

Basically, I just got burned out on the hobby for now, but if I miss it then I'll set up better tank and do some things differently. One big bummer is I have eczema and it's a problem sticking my hands in the salt water. This is a pretty big downer and has taken a lot of my joy out of the hobby.

I'll make a list of everything today and post it. I'm thinking that I'll just auction stuff off. I'm just going to focus on the live stock this Sat, but I already have my tank sold to a friend.

Here’s my list
Sps
ORA Marshall Island
ORA tort
ORA dark blue milli
Jaquelinus - I know I spelled it wrong but it’s a cool deep water acro
LSU Cap – Yes, I made that name up. It’s a yellow cap with purple polyps
Teal Tort
Great big Teal Tort – I’ve been holding it at Russell’s but he said we’ll have to trim it down so it will fit in a 5 gallon bucket. Let call it “Bucket Tort, not to be confused with Beckett.
ORA pillow top
Loripes
Mystery blue acro – very very cool, but very slow grower.
Violet Acro – also known as Marcye because I got it from her. Russ calls it Dragonfly, but I’ve never even seen it flap it wings, or eat a mosquito.
2 Rose/Pink Millis
Prostrata frags
Chips frag - small
Some other miscellaneous frags
Pom Pom rock – The original strain of pom pom that was around in the late 90’s-2001 about 5 heads
Zoos & LPS
Cycloseris – tank raised and one of the best Russ ever produced
A few fungia
Gator zoos
Tangerine speedos
PPE – I got from Craig
Eagle eye
No name blue green with kind of pink centers
Green Paly
2 clove polyp rocks

That’s the bulk of it. Most pieces will just go for top bid but there will a few that I might have a reserve on, but it will be reasonable.

Hi John,

I'm so sorry to hear you are breaking down your tank. Ray beat me to the link on the gloves.......Sure we can't talk you out of it?

In case we can't - I could use some rock with the pom pom or softies and the mandarin.
I'm not one for adding things from others into my tank - but I know the care that went into yours....

The gloves don't really work out that well and trust me, I've gone through a bunch of them. Who knows, I might miss it and get another one going. There's a lot of things I would do differently and ideas I'd like to try.

My tank has been parasite free for over 2 years now.

I'm sorry but I've been telling everyone that I'll auction it off. Also, if everything goes as planned the rock will be gone too.

Are you auctioning the rock? Is it pest free? I really could use some rock for my prop tank so if you want to work something out, let me know. I understand about the corals. I wish I could make it.
