Ran the Reeflux 10k DE 250s for 10 months..
Worst Lights I have ever had. Very Pink in color and coral growth stopped.

Went back to Phoenix 14ks which have a nice white/blue.

Cool. Thanks much Baalz for the input. Will likely try the XM's as I have SE fixtures. Wish Phoenix made SE 14K's.

What ballasts? IME XM 10k are very white, even yellow with certian ballasts.

I run a m57 ballast and it seemed very greenish yellow, but I only ran it for 3 weeks before I switched back to the cheap ebay bulb.

I liked the XM 10K bulb. It was slightly yellow for my taste but good coral growth.

there was a bad batch of reeflux 10k bulbs that were pink. generally they run more white then the xm's and have better color. if you are using SE bulbs the nipples need to be pointed upwards

Crazy. 250W SE XM 10K are greenish-yellow on my M58 ballasts. Great coral growth, nasty coloration.

On an icecap ballast XM 10k are very dull white and Reeflux 10k is yellow/pinkish but makes color pop more. The color blue will not come to your head looking at either bulbs. HTH.

On my PFO HQI ballast, XM's are very white when new turning to a slight yellow tint at about 6 months. The Reeflux's are slightly yellow with a hint of pink. Both 10k SE bulbs. I would not call either bulb blue.

No offense but you should ask such a subjective question. All bulbs perform differently on different ballasts. You could also check Sanjay's site and compare both bulbs using your ballast. The ccrt number is the K temperature of the bulb/ballast combo, this will more objectively give you the answer you are looking for. Unless these posters are running the same ballast, their opinions are not very meaningful.

Color itself is subjective. 1 out 10 men have some form of colorblindness.

Just trying to help...

PAr from the hamilton does not compare to the xm or even the refflux, though.

I got some of those bad bulbs and sent them back, the pink ones were bad!!!

The reeflux SE 10k is a whiteish bulb with a small blue tone and I have had great growth using them.

I ran a XM 10k and a Reeflux 10K side by side and the XM was deffinitely more yellow!!!

If you need a blue bulb XM 10K or Reeflux 10K will NOT do for you even so the Reeflux 10K is little more blue than the XM 10K.

The Hamilton 14 K has more par with the IC ballast in the 250 W than any other SE blue bulb.
Now if you pay $115 a bulb the Aquaconnect SE is the best blue bulb out there.

I picked up an AC 14K 250 watt SE and am trying it next to the Reeflux 10K, both on Coralvue e-ballasts. I like it, it's not noticaby dimmer than the Reeflux 10K and is not too blue but does have a blue tinge compared to the Reeflux.

I have an XM 10k and a Reeflux 10k running side by side on my tank presently, not by choice but I splashed a Reeflux and broke it! They are both on Coralvue e-ballasts and the Reeflux is much more blue. I do know nipple placement on the SE bulbs makes a huge difference with both brands. I really like the Reeflux and plan to stick with them with my next replacements. The XM has tremendous growth and even though it has a high Par the zoanthids growing up the back glass went crazy. I switched to the Reeflux and the zoanthids look like they got burned in the beginning and have stayed that way for 8 months? Growth on SPS is not as dramatic but still better than the old Ushio 10k I started with.
