IMHO it's overpriced.

If you look on craigslist, there are plenty of tanks for sale ....

What do you think it should be priced around? I'm not going to sell it for under 1100. I have too much money invested into it.

I guess that question really doesn't matter based on your next statement below.

This hobby is NOT one where assets appreciate.

For instance the LR you're selling. I've NEVER purchased liverock of a private party for more than $2 /lbs.
Chromis are $4 at the pet store, some sell them cheaper than that.

With the way the local economy is currently - Best of luck. There are quiet a few setup's for sale on craigslist, and signs around the road.

I was asking your opinion. I understand reefkeeping isn't a good investment.

I was just thinking that the prices for the live stock were at or above what I've paid retail.

For example, on Live Aquaria & LFS:
LR = $2.67/lb.
Red Monti = $39
Green star polyps = paid $15 for a med. size colony at LFS.
Florida Ricordia = 7 for $59 or $8.57 a piece
Frogspawn = purchased med. colony dual colored this weekend at LFS for $20
Maroon clownfish = $19
Chromis = $3

Typically most people sell their used equipment for about 50% of what it costs at the LFS & on-line new. The only difference would be if you had a very rare coral that was limited edition. In that case you could price it the same or more than you paid sometimes.

But I do hope you get your asking price. Best of luck!
