Your clown will more than likely put him in his place. However, the couple of times I tried to keep one of these pretty fish ,it was always bothering everything else but my clowns. As small as the little buggers are you'de think they wouldn't mess with the bigger fish. Maybe you'll have better luck. Bi-color ones aren't so bad from what Ive been told. Which ever way you go good luck and happy reefing

I have a purple one in with my two ocellaris clowns. I've never had a problem. Then again, the clowns have gotten use to having aggressive damsels in there too. And from what I've heard, the tomato clowns are more aggressive than the ocellaris ones

I also had one for a while with a clown or 2. Ocellaris's though. Never a single problem with anything. great colorful fish in my opinion.

My purple Pseudo is ****ing me off. I have an AP12 with LR and a few Zoo's and one skunk clown. The clown and the pseudo were placed in the tank at the same time. For two weeks, it's been attacking the clown. Everyone knows how hard it is to catch a fish without disturbing the rockwork. I'm to point of tearing everything down and catching the poor clown to return to the lfs. The only reason I dont return the pseudo is because my daughter bonded with the freakin fish lol.

poor skunkie, i'll save ya.

Purple Pseudochromis can be territorial. I wouldn't place him in a 10g with another fish. In a 10g the whole tank would be his territory. Just my opinion.

I'm completely blown away that all of you have such strong feelings against purple pseudo's.

Mine was seriously a model citizen... I'm not saying yours aren't mean, but it's just hard for me to imagine that fish being a bastard, you know?

They are good in the beggining. But try adding another fish in a year or so. Seriously mine is responsible for several loses of new fish.

Mine was a terror when he was in the 29g. When I urpgraded his home to a 90g. His aggressive behavior really declined, but thats probably because no other fish in the tank goes in the upper left hand corner of the tank aka his turf. I have a maroon clown, 5 chromis, Diamond gobby, red blenny, 4 shrimp, Yellow tang, and 2 barlet anthias. Hes the boss.
