WTB: 3" Cooling Fans

Im looking to buy some fans to cool my canopy...Im thinking maybe 4-5 3" (silent as possible) fans...Anyone have any they want to get rid of before I head to Fry's??

i went to frys when i was looking and was surprised at the cost vs. on line. not sure what you have in mind but i went with these fans...

the fans are quiet. i will say this though, out of 6 i bought i have to back 2 of them down to half throttle as they get a hum sound to them. still quiet, but louder than the advertised 16dp at 62cfm.

delivery was quick; they are in san jose.

NIB: Two silenX 8dcb 60mm fans.

Was going to wire them into an AP24 hood, but I think I'm going to add a 150w Viper instead...

Sweet thanks for the recomendation...Those prices seem fair...$35 for the controller and $10 per fan...hmmm...and your satisfied with the sound versus cooling benifit?

Im trying to cool my 55g canopy so do I need this many fans??
I figured the more the merrier but Im just now doing research about fans so any help is great~!

p.s. Im assuming dba has something to do with decibels and acoustics?? So is there a standard dba amount for "silent" fans?

i can't attest to the cooling yet as i'm still building my tank in the garage. i have a canopy as well with 3 of those fans blowing in and 2 smaller fans pulling air out the side.

dba = decibels
cfm = how much air it's blowing (i'm sure someone knows the technical term)

regarding research; go to the site i posted up and start looking at the dba and cfm ratings on each fan. if i recall correctly, you will not find a quieter/equally powerful fan.

oh, and they are $6.99 (on sale).

This one too...But would you even notice a difference between 13dba and 9dba?? The price is dramatically different at $16 a piece..
