Glue or nail the top of the stand?

Which is the most common way of connecting the top of the stand with the rest of it?

use drywall screws countersunk and glue and the use a wood filler to cover over the screwholes and sand.
That would probably be the best ways

I used glue and finishing screws on mine. Just go by your local hardware store and pick up some water proof wood glue like titebond III.

Liquidnails would work well also, and would probably hold better for the application. Most people don't know it but the glue almost always holds the wood, its the wood that breaks so its all about the penetration into the wood.
