Additional Information: How much space do these skimmers require? A measly 2.75" off the back of the tank for the Remora. This is much thinner than most other H.O.T. skimmers on the market. In fact, many skimmers that perform similarly to the Pro model require 8-9" off the back of the tank. Are these skimmers loud? This is a big issue with H.O.T. skimmers, and the Remora is towards the quiet end of the spectrum as far as skimmers are concerned. There is no sucking sound that is normally associated with venturi type skimmers. It is normal for the Remora to be loud during its first week of operation, but once it has broken in it should make relatively little noise if it is installed correctly.
