The revolutionary AquaC protein skimmers do not use venturis, downdraft tubes, or air pumps; they employ the patented "Spray Injection System." This innovation allows the protein skimmer to efficiently draw in much more air than any other of the top protein skimmers. This coupled with the superiorly designed compact reaction chamber yields results that will literally blow the waste out of your water.

These innovative hang-on-tank skimmers install in seconds and make high performance foam fractionation available to those with sumpless systems. If you are searching for the most compact, efficient, and powerful hang-on-tank skimmer on the market, look no further. AquaC`s Remora is simply the best hang-on available today. The Remora is rated up to 75 gallons and requires a scant 2.75" clearance from the back of the tank and only 6" of vertical clearance.

The AquaC Remora Series is the first hang-on protein skimmer under $250 to be able to generate a dry consistency of foam that previously only an in-sump "super-skimmer" is capable of.

Additional Information:

How much space do these skimmers require?

A measly 2.75" off the back of the tank for the Remora. This is much thinner than most other H.O.T. skimmers on the market. In fact, many skimmers that perform similarly to the Pro model require 8-9" off the back of the tank.

Are these skimmers loud?

This is a big issue with H.O.T. skimmers, and the Remora is towards the quiet end of the spectrum as far as skimmers are concerned. There is no sucking sound that is normally associated with venturi type skimmers. It is normal for the Remora to be loud during its first week of operation, but once it has broken in it should make relatively little noise if it is installed correctly.

How well do these skimmers perform?

We've run just about every brand H.O.T. skimmer we could get our hands on, and the Remora seems to perform very well considering its size and pump. We believe that you will be hard pressed to find a higher quality or better performing H.O.T. skimmer than the Remora or Pro, considering their moderate price.

Will the Remora overflow if the collection cup fills up?

No, unlike many other H.O.T. skimmers, the Remora collection cup is designed so that it should not cause an overflow if the skimmer was to suddenly increase foam production while you are away from home. Since the cup is contained within the body of the skimmer, any excess foam will safely drain back into the unit rather than onto your floor.

What size tank do you recommend for each skimmer?

As a general rule of thumb, the Remora is good for tanks up to 75 gallons. These figures can vary depending on your stocking levels or the sensitivity of your corals and fish.

This item is in perfect condition and was only used for approximately three months. It's a great skimmer, and at this price it's sure to sell quickly, so act fast before I change my mine! This would make a great gift for any serious reefer and should arrive in plenty of time for the holidays.

Yes, this unit is highly portable, so you can move it from tank to tank as necessary. Perfect for addressing tank crashes, as well as a variety of other tank emergencies.
