Tek T5 problem

I just purchased a Tek T5 lamp. I placed the light bulbs in the configuration the Grim Reefer gave me. Of the 8 lamps 2 of them won't turn on. When I replace one of the true blue lamps with any other one (but another true blue) it will light up all the lamps. Is this a defective ballast? Or the True Blues pull more power then the ballast puts out?

I have the 6 bulb fixture and used to have the same issue. Sometimes if the bulbs aren't in just right they won't fire. I don't think you can say that the ballast is defective when it does fire all the bulbs, so I would just try adjust the bulbs giving you a problem. Once you get all of them working don't mess around with it anymore lol.

I've never experience the problem you describe, but I would agree that the bulbs might not be seated in correctly.

I tried them in 20 different configurations and still didn't work correctly. I am exchanging it for another unit. When you spend $400 for a unit you want it to work right out of the box and not have to mess with it to get it to work.

you're right. maybe your fixture is defective is why it does that. yeah, exchange it for one that works right.
