What to feed sps?

I have three SPS frags and XMAS tree coral. How and what should i feed them? Right now i mix Rotifers with the fish food and squirt some across the top of the tank during the day and i just started feeding the Rotifers at night. Is this ok or is there a better way and food to feed them?

I occasionally throw some cyclopeeze into the tank at night, but for the most part rely on fish poop as well. Stirring up detritus also seems to get a feeding response, so I stir up my sump floor now and then.

I do roti-feast and phyto-feast twice per week. I get more polyp extension on my SPS now.

The phyto feeds the copepods that the SPS eat It's all part of the food chain.

The SPS also eat the bacteria that feed on the phyto. I think the zooplankton also mostly feed on the bacteria that eats the phyto.

Species dependant . With over 10K copepods alone, it makes sense there would be divirsity in the zooplankton class in regards to target feeds

I may be imagining it, and it may be something else (although nothing has changed), but since I started feeding oyster eggs, I swear I have been able to see a very noticeable difference in the color of all of my SPS corals. I also periodically add Chromamax and Zoomax, although on a very irregular basis.

my fish eat pods, thats all, after i stopped feeding my sps tank 2 1/2 yrs ago i noticed alot better coloration on all my sps since then, and corals i get from tanks that get fed actively turn crazy colors. i think if a tank is established enough and has the correct stocking of specific fish it doesnt need feeding.

My corals show most of their PE at night. I'm not keen on the idea of turning off my skimmer at night, so no feeding in my tank -- corals will have to settle for 'pods and snailspawn.
