Favia Q
Is it normal for a Favia to have its sweeper tentacles out during lights on? I have had just actinics on for the last 2 days trying to get some shipped polyps to open. Today I ran my regular lighting schedule and the tentacles have been out since I got home from work. Dont know about earlier in the day, no one was home. Is this normal or could something be wrong?
Thanks |

I've seen Platygyra & other favid corals do it at my closest LFS, so I'm guessing its not all that uncommon.

Not uncommon at all. I've seen it quite a bit.

May have just got use to the low light from two days prior?
Also can be a sign of it's feeding, either theres plenty of bugs buzzin around during the day to be had, or the water may be rich with nutrients. Doesnt sound like anything be concerned with at all though. Great time to take some candid pics -Justin
