depending on what you plan on keeping... My 40 gallon breeder will be almost all sps. I am in the process of finishing the build process up on it but I had the same question, and it was recommended that I get 2 koralia 3's for flow...

I just ordered 2 hydor koralia 3's for my 58 gallon, I've seen alot of good reviews about them at drsfostersmith.com. I was going to get a pair of 1's but the people in my club all suggested that I go with a version that had more flow.

Koralia tips
Make sure that the Koralia's you get come with the stainless steel shafts (early K3's used to come with only ceramic shafts). Also the K2 & K3 that had the electric leakage problems were date coded 712 and earlier. They have also come out with new nosecones and flow directors that push onto the front of the Koralia's nosecones. I emailed Hydor USA and they were kind enough to send me out 2 metal shafts, a new nose cone (K3) and flow directors for both my K3 and K4 pumps. If you get the newest pumps they should have the flow directors in the package with them...FYI, on the K4, i did notice what seemed to be a loss of flow but conversely - no more sand trenches from the current flow now either (#3 coral sand)
