overnight flatworm explosion

I noticed this morning that my frag tank has I believe flat worms they are small, flat and about the 2mm long with a forked tail, tan in color. I check this tank regularly and have never seen any before now there are what seems to be hundreds could this happen over night?
Any stores carry FWE and is it just a follow the direction sort of thing, any ill side effects?

From your description they don't sound like the "red planaria" veriety of flatworms that become such a pest.

Normally, those type of flatworms will disappear on their own and don't harm a thing. I'd leave them and enjoy them while they're there.

I have no idea where they came from as I haven't added anything to the tank in at least a month, they seem to be more visible when the lights are off.
