Growing montipora
I purchased a montipora cup/plate about two weeks ago. It seems to be doing well. I have been seeing a cobweb like substance coming from the coral. Is this part of the growing process, a form of shedding?

Not from the growing process. Could be stressed. Check tank conditions. Tank should be aged well and thriving before adding coral such as this. Montis are tough though.

Tank has been up and running for about a year and a half. Conditions test within proper range. Nitrates below 10. I have a leather that every week or so expells the same type of silky string.
