Noisy Maristar Fan

Any Maristar users out there fix/replace/toss the fan within the unit's fixture? This thing is crazy loud. I am surprised that SLS would put such a fan in one of their lights. I am thinking about cutting the power lead to the fan. The thing only comes on when the T5's are on anyway. Any thoughts suggestions?

Thanks!

Try using some WD-40 on it. It helps on computer fans sometimes.

i have the same problem and want to replace the old fan with a quieter one. it uses a 80mm fan and this thing is NOISY! not sure what to replace it with. My icecap fans are super quiet, but don't know if I can wire it direct or does it need the AC adaptor.

Mine really isn't that noisy. But I do have a Remora Pro on my tank so it all might be relative. Unfortunately sunlight supply has horrible customer service and will void your warranty if you open the unit (although they wouldn't know short of ripping the fan out).
