it basically created more flow...and instead of going into a sump (open loop) it just sucks water from one drain, or two...goes into a pump, then poops it out in whatever other drain

Look in my Gallery, I have pics of my closed loop. Like said above it is just another way to move water without having it drain from the tank. The water is basically just being sucked from the tank into a pump, and then back to the tank.
