Is this a true statement?

"Everybody who maintains SPS have losses from time to time--the trick is to minimize these events"

We all have some sort of pest and or iatrogenic event at some point or another.

ive lost frags, i've also lost frags grown into small colonies and large colonies; some can be attributed to causes, others are still puzzling.
the only way you could avoid losing acros would be to go with only long established aquacultured frags, and even then after a long enough period you will lose something

I won't disagree with that statement, however IME the same can be said for most corals including softies & LPS.

I actually think that softies and LPS corals have done it more to me than SPS corals. Don't get me wrong, I've had my share of RTN's and other outbreaks, but I think it's more softies and LPS that freak out on me more than anything.

I have a frag tank with maybe 60 frags. Since I'm fragging them, they are under some stress, but every once in a while I'll just watch one go from healthy to bone-white overnight. I used to stress over it thinking this was the start of a crash but honestly it's just part of keeping them I think.

Yeah Bob said that. I agree. The cool part is when you actually bring back a frag into a colony. I lost almost a whole birds nest colony I paid 75 bones for. Well as of recently I brought it it back into a colony. Exciting!.

The statment is true for anyone that keeps animals captive as a hobby. You could say that anyone who breeds "whatever" will have losses from time to time and be making a true statement.

Could be things like parvo in puppies, flu in birds, having a heat rock get stuck on or off for reptiles, etc. I'm sure there is a list for all living things we keep as pets.
