Tyree Purple Unknown

Anybody got pictures of this beauty? I have a small frag from Atlantis and it's growing at a nice clip, just wanted to see who else had it. I love the encrusting growth and it quickly has become my favorite sps in my tank

Here is mine from several months ago it has grown alot since then. This coral definitely likes to encroust before it starts to grow up.

Here is a close up, but not colored up correctly from a recent tank upgrade.

I hate the stuff (caulerpa).......Once I added the MH it has come out of the rocks like a plague.....I prune the tank of it once a week. I hate the stuff.....Might get a Scopus to help out with it....

Thanks Kev.....I was gonna trade it off but I have grown to really love it. Not a SPS guy by nature but there are a few I have to have and this was one of them......

Kind of looks like a "Tyree Tri-color Bali" that puddled out rather than grew vertical.

I think I could get it deeper purple if I have 10k or a bit higher in the tank. It is under direct lighting from a 250w 14k Hamilton supplemented by 2x54w T-5 UVI Super actinic Rs. It is about 7'' from the water surface and the lights are about 8'' over the tank open top.......It's only a 40g long so it is pretty shallow.

I don't see the white polyps much until the MH go off and the actinics are the only thing on. When looking at night the white polyps are out completely.

I only ask because I have both as well and they seem to look and behave the same. I will look for those white polyps on the tips thanks for the info.

I have one that is encrusting quickly, but almost no polyp extension ever. Is this normal? What is the ideal placement of these? It's in fairly high lighting right now and pretty high flow also. It has started to encrust within a week, but polyp extension is nonexistent.
