Copperband in a reef tank?

I have kept copperbands many years ago with a lot of success but that was in a fish only tank. Now I have a reef tank and would like to add one but, I heard they “could” nip at sps , and they could go after tube worms.

Any experience your willing to share??

thor32766, did it kill the tube worms or just bug them? I have one really nice tube worm in the tank now.

I have clams but there all cleaner clams and completely under the sand so that shouldn't be a problem.

Mine also eat the tube worms, but to this day has never touched any SPS, zoo, or clams in my tank.

Dumb question guys – did the copperband eat both feather dusters and tube worms? To be honest I’m not sure what the difference is.

I have some of both (based on the LFS) in my tank and will remove the ones that could become food

My copper band was the first fish I put in my tank and he hasn't touched my Zoo's and LPS. I did have a feather duster in till he got in there. I love him though, hes my favorte fish and very personable and friendly, never shy, alway love to be in the front of the tank looking out towards me.
