what to feed my filefish?
I bought a Cantherhines pullus orange spotted file for $5 and is in my reef. He is very active and I see him eat algae but have been only hours since I put him in the tank so I want to know what can I offer to my file. Sorry for my English

I hate to break it to you, but this little fish will probably die. Orangespotted files are unsuitable for aquarium life because they only feed on coral polyps creating an extremely low survival rate. This file could make it on account of its enviroment but then your corals won't. I personally would take him back to the fish store. This is a fish that should generally be avoided.

You can feed a mixture of meaty foods such as, Crab, Shrimp, Scallops, Squid, Octo, Mysis, even Pellets and greens (Nori) daily.
