Koralia and heat

i recently added 2 #4 koralia's to my 75g and have noticed about a 3 degree increase in water temp. is this common or do i have a defective pump?

simply put - you added a motor to your water - the heat will rise, adjust your tstat on your heater down to compensate

dont have a heater and i have run MANY powerheads that dont add any noticable heat to the system. at 8.5 watts i would think something else is wrong.

Its normal, I added a Koralia 1 to my 29g nano and the temp went up 2 degrees. I live in South Texas and do not even use a heater.

I added a K-2 to my 29G tank and temp rose 3+ degrees. Not too happy with that. I had to add a fan to my sump area to drop the temp back down. I am going t e-mail the manufacturer and see what they say.

IMO any PH will add heat. Whether you notice or not is another story. The vortech is ok but make sure no one touches the motor that sits on the outside...............talk about hot! It seems like you could fry an egg on one of those suckers.
